about meMy name is Daniel, and I am a science educator. I am completing my single subject credential and M.A. in teaching from Brandman university.
I earned my M.A. in Musicology from UC Santa Cruz in 2020. My master's thesis was on the American composer Charles Griffes. I earned my B.M. in trumpet performance and my B.A. in Physics from Sonoma State in 2018. As an undergraduate, I conducted research in coastal oceanography at UC San Diego, where I studied internal waves, and astronomy at Sonoma State, where I modeled black hole behavior with MATLAB.
I play the trumpet, and I like to compose. I write for band and brass instruments. In 2017, my piece for brass quintet was performed by the New York Philharmonic Brass Quintet.
In my free time I really enjoy painting, reading, and my caring for my pets (including a cat, fish, and a few lizards!)
